چکیده

This paper describes an automated procedure to model imprecisely defined structures and solve them using the interval and fuzzy finite element methods (IFEM and FFEM). The IFEM and FFEM procedures both require an uncertain FE model as input. Since none of the available preprocessors can generate uncertain FE models, the first part of the research focuses on creating an uncertain FE model based on a deterministic FE model. This is done by adding uncertain parameters and relations linking these uncertain parameters to the FE model properties. The second part of the research focuses on an implementation of the IFEM and FFEM procedures, using an external deterministic FE solver. Finally, the modelling and solving procedure are verified on a small reference model.

MINIMIZATION OF DETERMINISTIC FINITE AUTOMATA WITH VAGUE (FINAL) STATES AND INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY (FINAL) STATES

In this paper, relations among the membership values of gener- alized fuzzy languages such as intuitionistic fuzzy language, interval-valued fuzzy language and vague language are studied. It will aid in studying the properties of one language when the properties of another are known. Further, existence of a minimized nite automaton with vague ( final) states for any vague regular language recog...

An automated response surface based optimisation tech- nique for the calculation of fuzzy envelope FRFs of models with uncertain properties

The finite element method is a useful tool to predict the behaviour of a structure under static and dynamic loads. Reliable finite element analyses can reduce the need for prototype testing and thus reduce the design validation cost and time. In many real life situations however, a deterministic analysis is not sufficient to assess the quality of a design. In a design stage, some physical prope...

Interval Uncertainty Quantification in Numerical Models using Dynamic Fuzzy Finite Element Analysis

Uncertainty and variability are always to some extent present in numerical simulations. Especially in the model definition phase, lack of information, scatter in material properties or environmental conditions imply that a designer should incorporate the possible effects of this non-determinism into the design procedure. This can be achieved by incorporation of the non-determinism in the numeri...

Universal Approximation of Interval-valued Fuzzy Systems Based on Interval-valued Implications

It is firstly proved that the multi-input-single-output (MISO) fuzzy systems based on interval-valued $R$- and $S$-implications can approximate any continuous function defined on a compact set to arbitrary accuracy.  A formula to compute the lower upper bounds on the number  of interval-valued fuzzy sets needed to achieve a pre-specified approximation  accuracy for an arbitrary multivariate con...
